Heat and more hills than expected so there was a change of plans quite early on to just get across the line. \n\nHaving trained in cooler temperatures the heat made things a struggle, I used every water station to cool me down. Despite a downhill course there were quite a few hills early on which threw me too and I knew it was going to be a struggle. I had no time pressures and I wanted to remember this experience so I just kept the pace easy, even walked when needed to get me over that line.\n\nIt was an amazing day out despite the above. You really can’t go wrong with American crowds, they love it. My hand and ears are still recovering from so many high fives and the cheering crowds.
